The “2018 Women in Law” section of the October 2018 Phoenix edition of Attorney at Law magazine features a spotlight on the Ladder Down program co-founded by CDS attorneys.
The Ladder Down program was founded in 2012 and ran for four years in Phoenix with support from the Arizona Association of Defense Counsel. The year-long program is geared specifically toward empowering women lawyers with tools in leadership, business development, and mentoring. The unique program stood out immediately, and the AADC received the 2013 Diversity Program of the Year recognition by DRI during its inaugural year.
Following Ladder Down’s success in Arizona, the co-founders sought to bring the program to a national platform in order to expand its reach. Beginning in 2017, the prestigious Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel partnered with Ladder Down to launch five new programs over the course of five years. To date, the FDCC Ladder Down program has run in San Francisco and Seattle and looks forward to launching in Cleveland in 2019. The program continues to run in Phoenix, where it has close to 150 alumnae.
Attorney at Law also features numerous Ladder Down graduates in its October edition, including Ashley Halvorson, Jessica Kokal, Amanda Chua, Nicholle Harris, Jill Ormond, Lori Voepel, and Kindra Deneau.
