Christian Dichter & Sluga is so proud to announce that our Partner J.P. Harrington Bisceglia was sworn in to the United States Supreme Court Bar on March 21, 2023.

The University of San Diego School of Law Alumni, of which J.P. is President of the Phoenix Board, proudly sponsored its inaugural United States Supreme Court Admission group.  To qualify for Supreme Court admission, applicants must have been admitted to practice in the highest court of a State for a period of at least three years immediately before the date of application; must not have been the subject of any adverse disciplinary action pronounced or in effect during that 3-year period; and must appear to the Court to be of good moral and professional character. Additionally, the applicant needs to be sponsored by two current members of the Supreme Court Bar. J.P. was sponsored by Doug Christian, founding shareholder of CDS, and Don Myles, a partner at Jones Skelton & Hochuli with whom J.P. tried a case several years ago.

J.P. described the experience as a humbling reminder of the importance of serving as an attorney. Part of the opportunity included observing oral arguments before the Court addressing key business law issues that affect CDS client needs. J.P. would like to thank the University of San Diego School of Law Alumni Office, Dean Robert Schapiro, and CDS for making this possible.

Ms. Harrington Bisceglia’s primary practice areas are insurance coverage and bad-faith litigation. She is a seven-time Super Lawyers Rising Stars selectee, has earned the Martindale-Hubbell AV-Preeminent Rating, was invited to be an Associate Fellow by the Litigation Counsel of America (“LCA”) in 2016, and was invited to be an LCA Fellow in 2020. She is a prime member of the Association of Defense and Trial Attorneys (“ADTA”).

Ms. Harrington Bisceglia is a board member of the Arizona Association of Defense Counsel and leads the group’s Diversity Task Force with the direct purpose of increasing the diversity of attorneys in the Arizona defense community. She also serves as the firm’s primary contact to NAMWOLF (National Association of Minority and Women Owned Law Firms), where she serves on the Insurance Practice Area Committee and the Emerging Leaders Committee. She also serves on diversity committees of ADTA, the State Bar of Arizona, and the Maricopa County Bar Association. Ms. Harrington Bisceglia shares her love of law and the practice of law with each of these organizations and collaborates with them in a way to foster opportunities in law to all who seek it.

Earning his J.D. from the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law, Justin was a member of the fifth-ranked trial team in the nation, competing in numerous national trial competitions. He finished top-10 in the National Trial Competition in 2021; won the regional round of the National Trial Competition in both 2020 and 2021; placed in the “Sweet 16” of the All-Star Competition in 2021; and won multiple local competitions and awards for his trial advocacy in the process.

Additionally, Justin served as a teaching assistant for Trial Practice, president of the Moot Court Board, treasurer of the Student Trial Lawyers Association, and co-founded the Air and Space Law Society at the University of Denver.
