J.P. Harrington Bisceglia is a shareholder at Christian Dichter & Sluga, P.C. Her primary practice areas are insurance coverage and bad-faith litigation. She is a seven-time Super Lawyers Rising Stars selectee and has earned the Martindale-Hubbell AV-Preeminent Rating. She is a prime member of the Association of Defense and Trial Attorneys (“ADTA”). J.P. Harrington Bisceglia practices in Arizona and New Mexico State and Federal courts. She handles her clients’ needs from case assessment, investigation, discovery, settlement, trial, and appeal. She has spent her entire legal career working in insurance defense litigation. She has represented clients in a broad range of cases including insurance coverage disputes relating to first- and third-party claims on personal and commercial lines, bad faith, medical and other professional liability claims, nursing home litigation, subrogation, and general civil litigation. Ms. Harrington Bisceglia was second chair at a trial on bad faith and breach of insurance contract claims which resulted in a unanimous defense verdict in favor of the insurance carrier. This verdict was designated a significant defense verdict by Arizona Attorney Magazine. Ms. Harrington Bisceglia has been involved in 12 trials over the course of her career, several of which were tried to verdict. She also has completed arbitrations on a variety of civil disputes, most recently obtaining a result with a dollar value less than the amount contemplated in settlement discussions and hundreds of thousands of dollars less than the amount demanded. In all litigation files, Ms. Harrington Bisceglia helps her clients navigate the risks presented in the litigation process and the challenges of jurisdictions and precedent. She provides frank assessments of the evidence and applicable law to endeavor to obtain the best result in a given matter.
J.P. Harrington Bisceglia is a member of the Executive Board of the Arizona Association of Defense Counsel and leads the group’s Diversity and Annual Meeting Committees. She also serves as the firm’s primary contact to NAMWOLF (National Association of Minority and Women Owned Law Firms), where she co-chairs the Insurance Practice Area Committee. She also serves on the diversity committees of the ADTA (Association of Defense Trial Attorneys) and the Maricopa County Bar Association. Ms. Harrington Bisceglia shares her love of law and the practice of law with each of these organizations and collaborates with them in a way to foster opportunities in law for all who seek it.
She has presented educational material to claims adjusters, managers, and corporate counsel in private in-house settings as well as at NAMWOLF meetings and PLRB Regional Conferences.
